1995 Wynns Coonawarra Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

1995 was a difficult year in Coonawarra with below average temperatures making it difficult to acquire fully ripened fruit. However, those who carefully selected their fruit were still able to make very good wines.Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon this wine was matured in new and used American and French oak for 12 months. Deep rich red colour. The nose displays cool climate Cabernet aromas of blackcurrant, mint and dark chocolate with vanillin oak and ground coffee bean aromas in the background. The palate is richly flavoured displaying cassis and vanillin oak flavours. Fine tannin structure and long aftertaste. Cellar 3-5 years. Winner of the 1996 Stodart Trophy. 12.5% Alcohol Volume.
