Coming Soon - 1995 St Bridget's Kirk 29 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky (700ml)
Each batch of St. Bridget's Kirk is small, bespoke and distinctly different from the last. This one's said to be a blend of Macallan, Port Dundas and Tobermory - so that's Highlands, Lowlands (grain) and Islands - a comprehensive Scottish concoction indeed! Given that the youngest component dates back to 1995, the value for money seems remarkable. Nicely integrated, the nose has the reserve and elegance of a venerable Glenfarclas, the palate medium-bodied, showing excellent depth for a blend with a honeyed-harmony of biscuity malt, faint, sweet wood smoke, cinnamon, herbal teas, vanilla and a lengthy fade. Tastes like the profile for a premium malt whiskey liqueur, sans sugar. Glenfarclas' 25 year old comes to mind. It takes water well, too. A clinic on the art of long-term blending in a single cask. 514 bottles were filled from a refill butt at 44.1% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
Notes from the bottlers... marmalade, oak spice, ginger, vanilla and créme Brulée.
