Brick red colour, showing considerable advancement for a 1995, but then it is from the Touriga. Magnificent nose, with intense brandy lift over layers of very ripe raisins, ripe prunes and toffee, followed by a confectionary end note. The palate is drier than Shiraz based Australian Vintage Ports and does not have the fruit power or depth, but having said that, the wine displays finesse and elegance that is not associated with Shiraz Vintage Port. Velvet smooth palate, with fine brandy spirit dominant over an aftertaste of prune, toffee and marzipan.
Cellar 10-15 years (2012-2017) and beyond.
