1995 Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz

Stonewell Shiraz is the high point of Peter Lehmann’s red wine stable. Produced from the very best fruit from any vintage, from a number of old, low yielding vineyard sites, situated around the townships of Greenock, Stonewell, Siegersdorf, Moppa and Koonunga Hill. The Stonewell Shiraz is bottle aged and only released as a 5 year old wine.This wine represents the Peter Lehmann style at its best. Totally opaque black crimson colour. Superb nose - aromas of liquorice all sorts, spice, very ripe blackberries and stewed plums over a vanilla oak background. The palate has that warmth and generosity of ripe fruit flavours that has become the 'stamp' of great Barossa Reds. Flavours of liquorice all sorts, vanilla and spice over layers of blackberries and ripe plums. Excellent length and persistence. Fine grained dry tannins, but in balance with the fruit, followed by an exceptionally long aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
