Cragganmore maintains the lowest profile of Diageo's six 'classic malts'. Instead of sales in the millions (like Lagavulin or Talisker, for example), Cragganmore peaks at around 200,000 bottles annually. Of course, the reason is its importance in blends where its heavy, complex distillate can work wonders (the style is often placed in the same camp as Benrinnes, Mortlach, Dailuaine and Glen Elgin). This is a serious age statement for a Cragga', which has also retained a relatively high ABV. Drawn from a single sherry butt yielding 303 bottles, expect aromas of leather, dried fruit, malt and a little banana. Very unusual for this distillery. Presented in a decanter-like bottle and leather-bound, hinged gift box. 57.2% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Part of a new range paying tribute to great writers of years past, each release in the 'The First Editions Authors’ Series is dedicated to a literary figure, such as Dickens, Poe or Kipling. This edition features Irish poet, Tom Kettle. Each whisky is personally selected by Andrew Laing from distilleries around Scotland.
