The colour is giving the age of this wine away. Medium body, brick red colour with some tawny overtones. The nose displays some bottle developed aromas, with stewed fruit and spice present with notes of game and smoky oak. The palate does not seem to be as concentrated as the 1996, but has a good deal of power, none the less. Fine grained, velvet smooth tannins, followed by long aftertaste of earth, leather and strawberry. Cellar 3-4 years further.
