Together with the Amarone matured 22 year old, it's another malt with a profound red wine-cask influence, this time heralding from France's Southern Rhone Valley. Châteauneuf-du-Pape is considered a top tier appellation in the south, producing full bodied, opulent Grenache based wines that are long-lived. The wine input is evident in the spectacular colour, extending to the profile which is said to be a fantastic combination of plums, prunes, and dark chocolate.
