1995 Coldstream Hills Reserve Pinot Noir

The 1995 Coldstream Hills Reserve Pinot Noir is an impressive wine, but not of the same dizzy heights that the 1994 reached. Medium weight, brick red / ruby colour. The nose displays classic Burgundian counter point - smoky bacon, spice and game against a strawberry background. The palate does not have the weight or intensity of the 94, but none the less displays smoky game and spiced strawberry flavours. The wine has good length, a hint of leather on the aftertaste and quite high acidity that should soften over the next 5 years.
