1994 Wildwood Cabernets

The Wildwood Cabernets and Pinot Noir are both very impressive wines which we saw in a masked line up as barrel samples several months ago. Final filtration has been a little severe on these wines right now, but the inherent qualities will bounce back over the next few months.Deep brick red colour. The nose is quite superb, violets, cedar and confectionary. The palate is a little lighter than the intensity of the nose might suggest - but perfectly balanced with excellent depth of flavour. Mulberry, spice, cedar and a hint of leather create a Bordeaux like complexity of palate flavours. Fine tannin structure with very long aftertaste. Cellar 3-5 years.
