1994 Orlando Jacaranda Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon

Vintaged from an excellent year and with several years bottle age this wine is drinking superbly. The growing season was warm and mild, resulting in a balanced vine with fruit and canopy developing harmoniously. The long dry Indian summer ensured that the grapes were harvested at optimum physiological ripeness and developing intense varietal character. The wine was matured in new French oak barriques for 33 months prior to bottling and blending.Opaque brick red colour with crimson edges. Magnificent confectionary and violet nose, almost perfumed with overtones of chocolate and cocoa supported by blackcurrant end notes. A sniffers delight! The palate flavours are mouthfilling - vanilla, chocolate, cedar and plum, with liquorice and blackcurrant end flavours. Outstanding length and complexity, followed by fine firmish tannins which are in great harmony, quite dry and lingering onto an afterflavour of plum pudding, spice and vanilla. Cellar a further 5-8 years.
