1991 Douglas Laing & Co. XOP Xtra Old Particular Ardbeg 25 Year Old Single Cask Limited Edition Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) - Cracked Wax

The highest tier of Douglas Laing's current collection is the XOP (Xtra Old Particular) label. These are the “family jewels”, each release being a one of a kind, all natural whisky.

Now mostly sold out in Europe, this rare 25 year old was laid to rest at the legendary Ardbeg distillery in March 1991 and bottled in June 2016. It was drawn from refill hogshead #11179 at a natural cask strength of 48.2% ABV, with a total outturn of just 207 bottles. Given the going rate for official distillery bottlings with similar (or even lesser credentials), this has landed at a very tempting price indeed.

The presentation is another highlight - the whisky comes handsomely packaged in a wax-dipped bottle with dovetailed wooden box and its own individually numbered certificate.
