You don't often see Glen Keith pop up, even from independents. Founded in 1957 by the Chivas Brothers, it's one of Scotland's younger distilleries. In 2000 the distillery was mothballed but fired up again thirteen years later. Finding mature stocks like this is a rarity, and look at the price! The outturn was 427 bottles from single refill butt DL15290 at 50.8% Alc./Vol. Non-chill filtered.

Other reviews... Body is almost creamy, at least moderately oily. Taste is pretty interesting. Quite a lot going on. Again lime and guava are there quite clearly. It’s also quite waxy - almost astringently so. White pepper with a hint of green chili and some rock salt. The oak shows up a little on the finish as a vague vanilla note. I thought the waxy astringency was going to annoy me over time but then that pepperiness builds pleasantly and overtakes it. With time it gets a little more juicy – guava in particular – before the pepperiness. I like Glen Keith generally, and this is no exception. It took time to grow on me and it’s not without some unfavourable aspects but I think this one is pretty good. - whiskybase.com

Notes from the bottlers... The nose reveals an elegant dried apricot style running to maple syrup, milk chocolate and and honey'd barley. The palate is thick and fulsome with home-baking, vanilla cream and a mocha depth. The finish lingers wonderfully... anticipate a spiced oak character with pineapple and peaches in syrup.
