Notes from the producers... Brilliant Amber color. A rustic but very elegant nose. Typical aromas of an Armagnac of this age: licorice, leather, cinnamon, cloves, toast. On the palate, the balance of alcohol, tannins and aromas is magnificent. The aromas of candied fruit, English candy, cinnamon and gingerbread never end.  Produced from 67% Ugni blanc and 33% Colombard and aged 35 years before bottling in 2021, undiluted at 46.5% Alc./Vol. with nothing added.

"Marc Darroze is a treasure hunter, roaming Armagnac to find extraordinary barrels from the best terroirs. It’s always been thus at Darroze, perhaps Armagnac’s most famed négociant. Marc’s grandfather, Jean, was a chef who sought out singular barrels from local farmers for his restaurant. In the 1960’s, Marc's father, Francis, turned this family talent for discovering great brandies into a business. Though, it produces blends, Darroze’s genius is in its single-origin, vintage bottles. The Unique Collection is always bottled at cask strength, with no reduction and labeled with the source where the liquid comes from. With more than 60 vintages from more 30 hand-picked small estates, Darroze does most of its distilling at the place of origin. “We prefer to move the alembic to the wine rather than the wine to the alembic,” says Marc". - Jason Wilson, Vinous 2018
