1976 Maxime Trijol 41 Year Old Fins Bois Cognac (700ml)

Here's another super-value millésime release, a journey through time and a snapshot into the single, slow-ripened harvest of '76. Starting out in the bountiful vineyards of the region’s largest terroir, few producers tackle Fins Bois, but the likes of Grosperrin et al. have demonstrated just how good they can be when properly handled. The style is quick-maturing and produces eaux-de-vie famed for its aromas of freshly squeezed fruit. As with all Trijol's vintage releases, these individually numbered bottles have been approved by the Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac to ensure absolute authenticity. Distilled in 1976 and bottled in 2017 in a limited run of 400 bottles, you get forty year old liquid aged in Limousin oak barrels for just shy of $300 - a price / age ratio almost unheard of in quality Cognac.
