Old friends like to bring old wines to dinner. This is another from the David Whitehead collection (he loves old wine). Developed tawny colour with sienna hue. Remarkably deep. Aroma of leather, earth and cedar followed by old leather, vegemite and pencil shavings. The palate delivers flavours of old leather and cedar. Soft tannins. There is a surprising ‘hang on’ factor to the wine with nuances of stewed fruit still being evident. Long leather, cedar, truffle aftertaste.
