A deeper colour with a good crimson core turning to more tawny and mahogany hues at the rim. The nose is surprisingly clean with fresh earth and cedar wood aromas with some lively notes of cassis and eucalypt. A very old-claret like bouquet. The palate is a little lean but beautifully balanced, with some cherry notes and deeper more developed leather and mocha flavours. Grainy tannins provide a firm chalky finish which is nonetheless balanced and long. A wine that is showing well for its age.
