Bouyant creamy white mousse with a pale straw, gold tinged colour. Exceptionally fine bead showing excellent persistence. Very yeasty and refined nose with delicate notes of baked bread, citrus, faint toast and brioche. The palate shows great finesse with an elegant creaminess to the mouthfeel featuring flavours of baked bread, yeast lees, citrus, brioche and cashew. Clean dry finish. Excellent length with a long yeasty baked bread, citrus and cashew.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Tasted 29/09/2010: This non vintage cuvee is a blend of 33% Pinot Noir, 33% Pinot Meunier and 33% Chardonnay. The wine pours with an excellent white creamy mousse showing good hold. Exceptionally fine bead showing excellent persistence with a pale gold base colour. The nose displays top notes of toast and good yeast autolysis characters followed by baked bread and biscuit. The palate possesses a distinct toasty character with underlying flavours of yeast lees, biscuit and brioche. Creamy texture with clean crisp balanced acidity. Long aftertaste of toast, yeast lees and brioche.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2010-2014).
A roughly equal blend of chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier, plus 25% reserve wines; has 150 blend components, with 48 months on tirage. This is right in the heart of Pol style, crystal clear and poised, flowing evenly yet with drive and depth to its chalky/minerally/citrussy journey through to the fresh finish and lingering aftertaste.
