Longmorn 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Speyside, Highlands,
$69. 99
Bottle
$839.88 Dozen

An old chapel once stood on the site of the Longmorn distillery. The name itself means "Place of the Holy Man." The distillery was built in 1894-95, and has a disused waterwheel and a workable steam engine. It was extended twice during the 1970s and is currently owned by the Seagrams company.

Longmorn is arguably one of Speyside's greatest malts, cherished by connoisseurs and largely overlooked by the public. In recent years, the company has begun to market the Longmorn whisky more actively as a 15-year-old. Recent bottlings have been excellent. Matured in oak for more than 15 years, Longmorn is typically complex, big and round with a cereal grain maltiness. Longmorn can be enjoyed as an aperitif or even, as some prefer, with desert as an after dinner drink.

Tasting Note:Deep golden hue. Sweet, vinous, caramelized malt nose. The silky entry follows through to medium-bodied, delicate palate of sweet malt and honeysuckle-like fruitiness. A very smooth lingering finish. A very refined, subtle, sipping style with exceptional mouthfeel. 45% alc./vol.
