2007 Liquid Sun Islay 8 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Tasting note: Distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2015 after maturation in a Bourbon cask. Bright gold. Almost floral-softness with a gorgeous salt'n'pepper / smoked ham accent. The cocoa laced peat is oily yet fresh. Later sniffs detect smouldering pine needles. Continues to build developing delicate lanolin / citrus zest / cough lozenge aromas to great effect. Viscous entry with creamy peat-soaked malt; flavours of cough lozenge, dark chocolate, peppermint and herbal tea. Suggests smoked dates in the aftertaste. Maintains nice sweet / dry balance. Fabulous young Islay. 53% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
