The second batch to come out of the Hobart Distillery was matured in American oak Port casks and weighs in at a higher strength. Once again, our allocation is meager, so if you're looking to continue your collection, grab this sooner than later.

Tasting note: Beautiful deep burnished gold. Fresh sawn oak, developing subtle hints of cocoa, dried cranberry, raspberry tart, nicely harmonised with caramel and vanilla. Air contact adds suggestions of musk confectionary. Juicy malt entry with light red berry, lamington and spiced raisin notes lingering through the finish; impressive purity and balance for such young whisky. 216 bottles. 53.9% Alc./Vol.

Notes from the producer... Nose: An alluring essence of candied orange peel, stewed fruit, freshly ground nutmeg, and a hint of milk chocolate. Polished leather and raisin gives way to ginger and a splash of lime. Palate: A creamy mouth feel with sweet and rich fruits. Think PX meets Port. White Oak spices lend a touch of honey, shortbread, and vanilla custard. A faint hint of cranberry, apple pie, and Moscatel grapes. Finish: Persistent and intriguing, with lingering notes of butterscotch, sultana, tobacco leaf and rhubarb. An eloquent display of fruits and spices, welcomes you back for more.
