Named after Adolf Hirsch, a former executive of the Schenley Co. He purchased some barrels of bourbon from the famed Michter's Distillery Distillery before it closed in 1988. This is a 4-6 year old whiskey that's being bottled by Meier's Distilled Products in Ohio exclusively for Anchor Distilling Co. Two mash bills are married together, one with 21% rye and the other with 35% rye, resulting in a relatively high rye content of approximately 26%. The rye is sourced from Northern Europe, and the corn comes from Indiana and Ohio.

Other reviews... [46% ABV bottling tasted] Clear golden amber color. Creamy, buttery aromas and flavors of tapioca, pecan pie, chocolate orange peel and peach, and cedar with a supple, lively, dry-yet-fruity body and a tingling, delightful, medium-long spicy peach cobbler, sassafras, sandalwood, and spice and mint finish. A delightfully spicy and nuanced bourbon for sipping or cocktails. 43% Alc./Vol. 93 points - www.tastings.com
