Highland Park Ragnvald Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

The last three most recent offerings in HP's ‘Warrior’ series employ an increased quantity of Sherry influenced European oak making Sigurd, Ragnvald & Thorfinn the most complex, rich and sweet whiskies in the collection. This is one of the high points in the range, named after Ragnvald, arguably the most pioneering of all Vikings, who was a noted sailor and explorer of unchartered waters. His nautical accomplishments and riches of fabrics, exotic spices and precious stones from across Europe were widely celebrated.

Reports have it that 60-80% of the whisky has been matured in European (Spanish) oak, and the rest in American oak. All were sherry casks, with about 60 % first fill sherry. Glowing reports on the blogosphere but no tasting notes from the usual suspects. Beautifully presented in a timber box with metal decorations. Extremely limited stocks.
