Highland Park 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (1000ml)

Orkney Islands, SCOTLAND
$150. 00
Bottle
$1800.00 Dozen
ABV: 40%

Noted whisky writer, Michael Jackson, has described Highland Park as “The greatest all-rounder in the world of malt whisky.” The Orkney islands themselves, must partly be accountable for something of the uniqueness of Highland Park, through the surrounding ocean, the local peat and the Orkney spring water.

This unusual 16 Year Old Highland Park bottling is normally available exclusively via the duty free market. We have secured a very small allocation.

Tasting note: Nose: Malty, nutty, biscuity, mixed dried fruit (apricots?) Some creamy toffee and the faintest whiff of smoke. Palate: More dried fruit – tea loaf? Sweet and bitter. Vaguely winey, too. Finish: On the short side and somewhat tannic. Oxidisation? Faint smoke? Comment: I find Port and even Madeira characteristics here. Complex enough, but probably not to everyone’s liking. 40% Alc./Vol. Rating: 73 points
