$250. 00

$3000.00 Dozen
ABV: 46%
A now discontinued bottling that's a marriage of two straight rye whiskies: A two year old with a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% barley malt from LDI (now MGP) combined with an older rye with a mashbill of 53% rye and 37% corn from Barton Distillery. Both are finished for an unspecified amount of time in x Californian Shiraz barrels and x vermouth barrels. All reports suggest it's another excellent release from High West.

The nostalgic front label is from a historic poster at the Buffalo Bill Center in Cody, Wyoming.

Other reviews... [Batch 1 tasted]. High West Double Rye is transferred into vermouth and Syrah barrels, making for an interesting limited release. Herbs, blackberries, black currant, and black pepper are vibrant, followed by a medicinal hint of mint. The vermouth comes alive, with earthy notes meeting the rye’s traditional spices, a welcome back and forth with hints of black fruits. The warm, medium-length finish offers another hint of mint. If you like vermouth, you’ll love this.
