Heartwood Any Port in a Storm Cask Strength Australian Malt Whisky (500ml)

Already sold out at Heartwood, we've managed to secure a miniscule quantity of this release. Drawn from x-Port casks, HH593 (95%) & LD 644 (5%) and bottled in September 2015, this whisky was majority distilled at Tasmanian Distillery with a little bit of Lark influence. 172 bottles produced. 69.9% Alc./Vol.

Tasting note: Deep copper. Nose prickling in the opening inhalations, with the vapoury spirit obscuring formidable depths of dried fruit and marzipan. Later passes add walnut, wedding cake and hints of hessian sack. The prickly alcohol doesn't dissipate even after ample aeration. Mammoth whisky with liqueur-like concentration (less the sugar); Huge spices compete with marzipan and bittersweet fruit'n'nut chocolate flavours. Pulls up slightly short with subtle cocoa, caramel and vanilla notes lingering. 69.9% Alc./Vol.
