Grand Marnier Cuvee du Centenaire Liqueur (700ml)

$199.00 Bottle
  • ABV 40%

Made with Orange and Fine Old Cognac Brandy, Grand Marnier is a society favourite and one of the worlds best known curacaos. Now a limited edition of Grand Marnier celebrating the 100th anniversary of the creation of the company by founder Jean-Baptiste Lapostolle is available in Australia. This exceptional cuvee, created in 1927 is an opulent and powerful blend of rare cognac reserves aged up to 25 years, (primarily from Grande Champagne) and the distilled essence of wild tropical oranges. The liqueur acquires its full intensity and opulence after a minimum ageing of 2 years in oak vats.

Tasting note: Deep bright brassy gold appearance. Immediately impresses with its oh-so-fresh orange peel lift that delights the olfactory sense. Subsequent inspection locates the cognac, seamlessly integrated into the citrus, identifiable as hints dried fig and sweet cigar box and adding depth and complexity; Further exposure seems to melt the entirety into a stunning orange marmalade bliss, although the interchange between fresh peel and sweeter, heavier notes never really ends. Now orange cake, now hints of jaffa… The silky, creamy entry builds into a concentrated mid palate burst that's initially sweet then tempered by tingling spices and gentle peel. Excellent palate length. Ends luxurious, long and perfectly poised with candied peel and gentle spirit warmth. Classic and deeply satisfying. 40% alc./Vol.

Other reviews...Amber. Subtle orange rind nose. A smooth, bright entry leads to a medium-to full-bodied palate with candied orange and brown spice notes followed by a lush wave of warming alcohol. Subtly complex, extremely refined, and highly polished. 40% Alc./Vol.
