"Fabulous Malt that radiates the countryside." - Jim Murray

Note: Product has come from a private collection and as such has some minor scuffing/scratches/handling marks. Actual product not pictured.

Nestled in a quiet clearing, surrounded by fragrant gorse and towering pines, the Tarlogie Spring has served as the sole water source for the Glenmorangie distillery since 1843. Its unique, mineral-rich waters are said to contribute to the distillery’s fragrant house style.

Tasting note: Aged in virgin oak as well as ex-bourbon casks. Bright gold. Floral soft aromas evoke barley sugar, honey, shortbread and cream tea biscuits followed by ripe peach and pepper. In the mouth, this feels more concentrated than 43%; Virgin oak injects coconut and creamy vanillas while the citrus and spice add spark and freshness, finishing with beeswax, cocoa and tangy peel (orange / lime?) It's a beautiful arrangement that's at least as good as the 18 year old. Very Glenmorangie with a lot going on. 43% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews… This fabulous malt radiates the countryside in a way very few drams have done before. As refreshing as an early morning dip in a Scottish pond. 95 points- Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2017

...Tarlogan is the third and most recent release in Glenmorangie’s Legends Collection. Some of the component whisky had been matured in virgin oak casks, while the remainder was aged in bourbon barrels. A hint of freshly-dug soil on the very early nose, then toffee apples, malt, and vanilla kick in. The smooth palate focuses on coconut and more vanilla, with kumquat and lime. Almonds and vanilla in the mildly spicy finish. (Travel Retail exclusive)
