Glenfarclas Chairman's Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

This is the second Glenfarclas release to mark their 175th Anniversary. It was made by blending together four sherry casks with a combined age of 175 years. Just 1,296 bottles have been made available. This edition comes packaged in an attractive gift box with a branded Glencairn glass and a handsome water jug.

Other reviews... A lovely dark mahogany colour. A great dram to stare into and see the dark ripples of age drifting through the glass. Big sherried nose yet mellows after 2-3 minutes in the glass, malty tones apparent ever so lightly. Fresh nose on the surface giving way for blackcurrants, honey, toffee, butterscotch all underlined by rich, sweet, dry olorosso sherry. A dry whisky initially letting way for bitter dark chocolate, the taste of chocolate goes on for some time then a lovely cream brulée finish. Some light vanilla and burnt demerara sugar.
