Tasting note: [2018 release] Lowland based, since 2014 Eden Mill is Scotland's first venture to combine a distillery and a brewery under one roof. Golden promise and Propino barley strains are used, with the final whisky drawn from a mix of Oloroso, Pedro Ximenez and x Bourbon barrels. The bouquet is nicely rounded with biscuity malt and good sherry input. Later hints of bourbon and bubblegum. On the palate, it's as satisfying as any young malt could be; chocolate and light spice give way to vanilla and dried fruits. There's a gentle spike of heat before the aftertaste turns finely astringent developing with notes of tea biscuit and honey. The barrel mix gives this an appealing blended malt character. 3200 bottles. 46.5% Alc./Vol.
