$135. 00
Bottle
$1620.00 Dozen
ABV: 46%

Malt whisky lovers should keep an eye out for the new offerings being released by the reputable Cadenhead firm under their 'Duthies' label. Mr Duthie was the nephew of William Cadenhead and ran William Cadenhead Ltd from 1904 until his untimely death in 1931. He was also the person most responsible for building the reputation of Cadenhead's as a bottler of single malts and rum. The Duthies 'Copper Still' collection presently includes independent bottlings from Auchentoshan, Cragganmore, Glen Grant, Glen Scotia, Mortlach, Clynelish and Auchroisk amongst others. All the whiskies have been non chill filtered with no colouring added.

Tasting note: Pale gold colour. The bouquet unfolds in layers. After the initial pour wet ash and vanilla are evident. Several minutes later aromas of sweet rolling tobacco and polished leather emerge. The palate is disarmingly soft and light compared to the nose, and possesses a slightly oily texture. Light to medium bodied, semi sweet flavours of peat and vanilla are augmented by a warm spicy overlay. Concludes dry, more intense, warming and lanolin like with a subtle but lengthy aftertaste of lanolin, cocoa and vanilla fading to charcoal. Solid Caol Ila that's a little more assertive than the familiar 12 year old distillery bottling. 46% Alc./Vol.
