Casa Noble Anejo 100% Blue Agave Tequila (700ml)

Jalisco, MEXICO

Recognising that one of the most important factors in a great tequila is the agave plant, Casa Noble are not only a distiller, but a grower. With more than 3000 acres of agave under cultivation, Casa Noble’s agave fields are located in the hills near the city of Tequila in the state of Jalisco, where a unique soil produces the best Blue Agaves. (As with vines, the soil in which the agave grows is influential in determining the quality of the final product). Casa Noble tequilas begin as carefully selected individual ten year old plants of Blue Agave. Each one must meet the strict requirements for water and sugar content. The Agaves are then slow-cooked for thirty eight hours in stone ovens. Using only the core and hearts of the agaves, the juice is extracted followed by natural fermentation and a triple distillation (most other tequila is distilled only twice). Maturation takes place in French White Oak casks from Limosin for five years. Again, French oak is not commonly used in tequila production, however in Casa Noble it imparts extra complexity to the spirit. Packaged in a beautiful decanter made of black porcelain, Casa Noble Anejo’s total production is limited to approximately 2,000 cases per year, and is already sought after by tequila collectors and bars wishing to deliver their customers a superior tequila experience.

Tasting note: Pale copper. Sweet pickling spice, olive, pimento, and cedar aromas with a touch of musk oil. Medium-bodied with toasted oak, caramel, olive, and sweet pepper flavors. A subtle cola nut, peppery spice, and perfume finish. Interesting, give this a little time to open up. 40%Alc./Vol. International Review of Spirits Award: Gold Medal

Further notes: “Aged in French oak for five years; the brilliant amber tone is impeccably pure and clean; the nose at opening is rich, almost brandy-like, and oaky with time in the glass, the aroma becomes a bouquet as the oak influence is joined by a mild vegetal component and a background pepperiness the third sniffing pass reveals a soft brininess that complements the pillowy oakiness in the fourth and final whiff, the delicate, perfumy scents of oak resin and vanilla, mature agave, and nut butter unite to form an atypically biscuity tequila bouquet while I actually prefer the nose of the reposado, this one is very pleasing and well-structured; the palate entry is mildly sweet and oaky, but then the midpalate stage explodes with firm, meaty tastes of nut butter, pepper, and light caramel; the finish is long, spirity, and elegant; very nice indeed.
