Given a strong review from whiskyadvocate.com and a dramatic price drop, we've doubled up on our latest shipment.

An Islay producer not noted for their heavily peated malts, Bunnahabhain have now released one of their smokiest editions ever. Named "Toiteach" (pronounced toch-chach) which is Gaelic for smoky, there's some sherry influence to this as well. Bottled unchilfiltered at 46%. Only a very small quantity initially made it to Australia.

Other reviews... Dried peat smoke, a papery column of cigar ash, sizzling bacon fat, baked earth, and a shower of sea spray, coupled with hints of fresh peach and ripe fruits. The palate has a light, oily consistency ingrained with smokiness throughout, tasting of vanilla toffee, pick ‘n’ mix foam bananas, tangy citrus, and sweet tropical fruits, the whole arrangement given a peppery lift before succumbing to a late nuttiness. It’s not named after the Gaelic for smoky for nothing, you know. 46% Alc./vol.
