$7999. 00
Bottle
$95988.00 Dozen
ABV: 41.8%
The oldest official Bunnahabhain released to date. Aged for 46 years and bottled non chill filtered at cask strength, this grandfather malt is the culmination of a single second-fill ex-Oloroso sherry butt that had been maturing in warehouse #4 since mid-1969. Selected by Distillery Manager Andrew Brown, reports suggest it takes complexity to new heights for this distillery. The whisky comes suitably packaged in a stunning decanter-style bottle, handcrafted in Italy by internationally renowned glass blowers and metalworkers and presented in a large swing-door lacquered case with booklet. A mere 198 bottles are on offer worldwide. One only to sell. 41.8% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews… Distilled in 1969, the oldest Bunnahabhain ever released was matured in second-fill sherry butts. The nose yields sweet resin, marzipan, ginger, glacé cherries, a hint of cloves, and red berries. The silky palate features Jaffa oranges, dark chocolate, prunes, and more glacé cherries. The finish dries steadily, with slightly bitter tea, white pepper, a savory note, and quite subtle oak tannins for a dram of this vintage.
