Bruichladdich Laddie Classic Edition 1 Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Islay, SCOTLAND
$110. 00
Bottle
$1320.00 Dozen
ABV: 46%

A blend of different vintages, Laddie Classic marks a release of American Oak matured whisky, crafted by Master Distiller Jim McEwan to exhibit the 'naked' flavours of Bruichladdich, distilled from unpeated barley.

Tasting note: Bright pale gold appearance with a pale straw hue. Straightforward but attractive aroma is sweetish with cocoa laced malt and vanilla. Is there a glimmer of peat here too? Exceptionally soft entry builds into a mildly spicy, semi-sweet oat meal like mid palate that fades off into a crisp aftertaste of dried fruit and cereals. 46% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... ...salt lashed and coastal, the barley is shimmering in the glass. A big barley delivery but also enjoying a thick, almost fruit cakey sub-plot, with dark molassed depth... /you probably have to be a certain vintage yourself to fully appreciate this one. Hard to believe, but I can remember the days when the most popular malt among those actually living on Islay was the Laddie 10. That was a staunchly unpeated dram offering a breezy complexity... 89.5 points Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2012size>
