An extremely rare, one-off Laddie released around 2008 and bottled as a tribute to the distillery's past.
Since its inception in 1881, Bruichladdich changed owners many times as a result of corporate take-overs and rationalisation in the industry, narrowly avoiding closure until 1994, when it was mothballed as being 'surplus to requirements'. In December 2000 a group of private investors led by Mark Reynier (previously in the wine trade) and Jim McEwan, who worked at Bowmore Distillery since the age of 15, took over. The new directors recommenced distilling on the 29th May 2001, but they also inherited a good stock of casks from the 1960s and 1970s. Whiskies from both decades have been used in DNA (sourced from x-Bourbon casks) before finishing in Le Pin claret (Bordeaux red wine) casks. Non chill-filtered and colouring free. One only to sell. 41% Alc./Vol.
