Bookers Bourbon Whiskey (750ml) - Timber Box Presentation

Kentucky, UNITED STATES
$139. 99
Bottle
$1679.88 Dozen
ABV: 62.5%

On offer from our latest American shipment are a small number of Booker's Batch 2019-01E. Aged for 6 years and 3 months and bottled at 62.5%, it has exactly the same credentials as the limited edition 'Teresa Batch' (selling for around AU$260), sans extra label and one day of ageing (the 'E' suffix in this case denotes stocks set aside for export). As such, it's reasonable to imply it’s the same whiskey, less the price tag. (Collectors should also note that earlier editions of the same timber box presentation are now selling for close to $300.)

For a brand that was created twenty years ago as a Christmas gift for close friends and family, Bookers has cemented itself as a Bourbon staple for a much broader audience. When the company moved to bottling individual batches, the aim was to experiment with Booker’s flavour profile without straying too far from the original style. Current master distiller, Fred Noe, continues to find interesting ways to offer fans a reason to pick up different batches.

"If you’re drinking Booker’s, you better have your pajamas on!”
- Fred Noe, Master Distiller.

Other reviews... On the nose, there’s Golden Grahams, iced tea, and peanuts galore—shelled, unshelled, even boiled—Cherry Coke, white pepper, and ginger syrup. More sweet ginger on the palate, a lively high note that peps up the cherry cough syrup, roasted peanuts, cola, white pepper, and chewy oak. The lengthy finish is full of oak, cooked cherry, white pepper, and roasted nuts. Naturally, this does well with water but, frankly, it’s fine without. 92 points
