Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch No.3 Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

After almost manic demand worldwide, the '1401' series ceased after nine batches which were spread across world markets. In 2014, Tun 1509 was then commissioned, quadrupling 1401's 2,000L capacity, to combat global demand and to finally produce a worldwide release. Balvenie's Global Brand Ambassador, Sam Simmons says the new tun is capable of producing a similar recipe to that used for Tun 1401, just on a larger scale.

2016 sees Batch 3 from tun 1509, this time a vatting of 31 casks including 12 sherry butts distilled between 1989 and 1992; 11 American oak hogsheads distilled in 1989; and eight refill American oak butts distilled in 1992 and 1993. Limited to just under 9000 bottles, the series has become highly sought after by collectors and whisky lovers alike. Extremely limited. 52.2% Alc./Vol.
