Dumbarton, SCOTLAND

Today Ballantine’s is currently the 10th largest spirit brand in the world - refined and elegant, regarded as the taste to satisfy a modern style and an excellent, medium weight all-rounder. The Malt and Grain whiskies used to produce Ballantine’s Finest are all aged for more than three years. The original flavour, complexity and refinement comes from more than 50 single malt flavours. The unmistakable Ballantine's flavour is dependent on these 50 single malts, 4 single grains and in particular the fingerprint malts from Miltonduff and Glenburgie. It is balanced because no one single component dominates.
Ballantine’s 12 Years Old , first introduced in the 1950’s includes a blend of over 40 specially selected single malt and grain whiskies.

Other reviews... Bright golden amber color. Vanilla nut fudge aromas. A round entry leads to a dryish medium-boded palate with roasted nuts, caramel and sharp, white pepper. Finishes with a tinny, hot, spicy fade. A brawny, fiery style with a hint of Sherry. 40% Alc./Vol. International Review of Spirits Award: Bronze Medal. 84 points (Recommended). - www.tastings.com

...the kind of old fashioned, mildly moody blend Colonel Farquharson-Smythe (retired) might have recognised when relaxing at the 19th hole back in the early '50's. Too good for a squirt of soda, mind. 40% Alc./Vol.
