Adelphi Longmorn 27 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Speyside, Highlands, SCOTLAND
$250. 00
Bottle
$3000.00 Dozen
ABV: 53.2%
The tastings for the latest batch of Adelphis were limited to 20ml samples - just enough to paint the picture and recommend, but not enough to retaste and confirm our initial impressions. Generally speaking, they represent another first class selection of young and old malts from one of Scotland's top independent bottlers.

A text book example of Longmorn, but with the volume turned up several notches.

Tasting note: Bright gold. Vaguely cheesy at first, developing into a moderate, lightly toasty, honeyed and fruity, pear-like aroma with a trace of underlying peat. It gets more grainy and the vanilla is heightened after exposure, though the intensity is diminished. Third pass returns the classic Longmorn sniff - cereals and honey. Palate shows first class balance with a delicious stewed pear / spice profile that's amazingly vibrant for the whisky's age. Hints of juicy nashi-pear towards the finish are followed by a toasty cereal / fruit aftertaste. Impressive length.
