Liddesdale is a large hill, just a few miles from the location for Adelphi’s new distillery –The Ardnamurchan. Rising gently from the southern shore of Loch Sunart, Liddesdale Brae is steeped in folklore. Some speak of the “Devil’s Acre” where the old widow “sell’d her coo to the De’il” (selled her cow to the devil); nothing grows there. Others whisper of the “Fairie Knoll” (a place where fairies live), protected for all time by the “Deaf Shepherd” (a large piece of rock that looks like a shephard’s head) looking down from the skyline.

Consistently desirable, this latest batch is drawn from three ex-sherry butts. Alex Bruce's tasting notes suggest a "decadent dinner dessert" - rich toffee sauce, brandy snaps and dried fruits soaked in brandy with just a wisp of smoke.
Limited to 1491 bottles.

Tasting note: Amber gold. Beautiful fruit and honey fusion in the opening pass / develops hints of marshmallow and faint whispers of sweet smoke, with more sherry and baking spice character after aeration. Superb balance as soft spices fan out in an off-dry, juicy, stewed fruit delivery. Concludes with subtle cedar / cigar box notes and a delicately salty fade. Delicious. 46% Alc./Vol.
