Adelphi Fascadale Batch 5 Highland Park 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

The tastings for the latest batch of Adelphis were limited to 20ml samples - just enough to paint the picture and recommend, but not enough to retaste and confirm our initial impresssions. Overall, they represent another first class selection of young and old malts from one of Scotland's top independent bottlers.

Just so soft and seductive it makes you giddy.

Tasting note: Bright pale gold with a faint green blush. The restrained sweet-peat opening sniff is followed by an almost floral delivery that melds citrus blossom and lanolin. Honey and vanilla follow. Minutes later attractive kumquot / orange cake notes develop while the peat continues to waft about inconspicuously. Just so soft and seductive it makes you giddy. A sensational sniff. Svelte entry leads into a flawless profile of vanilla malt that's seamlessly interwoven with the creamy peat. Finishes fresh, clean and long with the peaty undercurrent dovetailing into the fade. Sexy, even sublime Highland Park. 46% Alc./Vol.
