One of Tassie’s most loved and best value Pinot Noirs continues to excel vintage after vintage, this superb 2019 release no exception. Fruit was sourced from Dalrymple’s own vineyard at Pipers River utilising a variety of blocks, different clones and slightly different aspects. Each of these sites making its own unique contribution to the final blend with maturation taking place in French oak barriques (24% new) for a period of 11 months.
A delightful Tassie Pinot Noir blessed with beautiful rich dark fruits, a fleshy texture and long moreish finish.
Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Showing excellent intensity the nose offers up a wide array of aromatics which include violet, dark cherry, strawberry and subtle anise followed by forest floor, light spicy cedar and fresh herb notes. Light to medium bodied, filling the mouth with great richness and generosity are delicious ripe dark cherry, strawberry and anise flavours which are supple and fleshy in their feel. The fruit over shadowing a back drop of smoky cedar, forest floor and spicy dried herbs. Velvety tannins with an expansive power wave and long moreish finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
