2018 Singlefile Chardonnay

Brilliant straw colour with distinctive highlights of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. On the nose pronounced ripe peach and dried honey scents are married to citrusy nougat, roasted almond and spicy biscuit notes. Round and full, rich ripe peach, nectarine and dried honey flavours fill the mouth and are cushioned by a creamy textural feel. Roasted almond, biscuity nougat and gun flint elements sit in the background. Finishes dry with good freshness and a long spicy aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

Similar vinification and maturation to the Family Reserve. Picked a month earlier which may indicate fruit from a different site. Very good fruit and oak integration here, citrus and stone fruit seamlessly meshed with creamy, nutty characters. Full-flavoured and rounded, but there's a backbone of lemony acidity. Ready to drink now but no hurry. Drink by 2028.
