One of Barossa’s benchmarks for highly slurpable, rich, ripe Shiraz the 2017 vintage is bang on again.
Fruit is sourced from the Barossa sub districts of Greenock (40%), Nuriootpa (30%) and Craneford (30%) with vines aged between 24 and 123 years old. Maturation took place in predominately second and third fill American oak puncheons for 24 months.

Silky and sumptuous, this richly fruited Shiraz is a Barossa belter.

Impenetrable pitch black core with a deep dark red black hue. Potent aromas of ripe blackberries, dark plum and liquorice fill the nostrils followed by dark chocolate, vanillin oak, subtle mocha and spicy fennel notes. Rich blackberry, liquorice and dark plum flavours layer the palate with a bold, opulent feel, yet the wine is far from overweight, the freshness of the cooler vintage shining through providing it with a slender and more elegant structure. Lightly smoked vanillin oak, fennel, traces of dark chocolate and spice sit beneath. Silky tannins further enhance the supple nature of the fruit. Excellent depth concluding with a long sumptuous aftertaste that will draw you back in for more.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
