2016 Hentley Farm The Beast Shiraz

Magnificent colour saturation displaying an impenetrable pitch black core with an equally deep dark purple black hue. Pronounced black cherry, liquorice and blackberry aromas sail out of the glass over a back drop of vanillin cedar, faint scorched earth, hints of fennel and pepper. Prodigiously rich fruit is framed by rippling tannins and vibrant acidity which impart a muscular feel. Concentrated yet tightly built the palate is awash with lavish blackberry, black cherry and liquorice flavours. Sitting beneath is spicy vanillin cedar, fennel and pepper nuances. Firm yet perfectly integrated tannin structure. Very powerful with a long blackberry, liquorice, black cherry, spicy vanillin cedar and pepper aftertaste.
