Other Reviews....
A very exciting 2016 Mosel GG that's still very young, but grabs you by the collar and won't let go. As the name suggests this is a real spice garden and the acidity carves a totally straight path through all these aromas before lifting off in the very long pure finish. Drink through 2040.

The 2016er Ürziger Würzgarten GG is made from parcels of very old un-grafted vines in the prime Urglück, Maxberg and Layenhaus sectors, and was fermented with ambient yeasts and aged in oak for almost 12 months. This offers a gorgeous nose of strawberry, pink grapefruit, tangerine, yellow peach, anise, fine spices and herbs. The wine is delicately creamy and superbly refined on the palate and leaves a clean and nicely fruity feel in the long finish. This lives from elegance and finesse rather than pure power. 2021-2031.

Notably deep golden straw. Quite refined, buttoned-up nose. And then a great explosion of spiced sausage on the palate. Very satisfying. No need for food when you have it in the glass! All bases covered. Maybe not for the longest life but lots of interest and pleasure delivered.

Tasted in late July 2017 and slated for late September bottling, this delivers a fascinating combination of coolness and incisiveness by way of greenhouse-like scents of foliage and flowers, seedy kiwi, zesty lime and cress. Glycerol-rich but with underlying firmness, the palate is not at all weighed down by its 12.5% alcohol. This finishes with penetrating, refreshingly juicy persistence and admirable animation, salinity and impingements of cress and crushed offering saliva-inducement and invigoration.
