2015 Zema Estate Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

One of Coonawarra’s long standing Estate’s, the Zema family having been crafting wines from their vineyards since 1982. The 2015 was matured in small French oak barrels for a period of 15 months. Totally opaque black dark red core with a deep dark red hue. Pronounced ripe blackcurrant, subtle liquorice and mulberry scents sail out of the glass with trailing notes of lightly toasted vanillin cedar, earthy tobacco and a whiff of spicy bay leaf. Medium bodied the palate has a generous mouthfeel with ripe black currant flavours backed by mulberry, vanillin cedar, subtle earthy tobacco characters, delicate infusions of bay leaf and spice. Finely grained tannins are well integrated with the fruit. Finishes with a medium to long aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
