‘This is an extraordinary bargain, even by the over-delivery standards West Cape Howe has set itself…’ James Halliday

Excellent depth of colour displaying an impenetrable black crimson red core with a deep dark red purple hue. Youthful freshly crushed inky berry aromas are followed by liquorice, some meatiness and peppered scorched earth characters. Full bodied with an abundance of rich peppery fruit the palate possesses mouthfilling flavours of inky ripe blackberries, liquorice, some meatiness, vanillin cedar and pepper. Slightly dryish on the finish with finely grained, yet quite structured tannins. Excellent depth with an aftertaste of inky blackberries, liquorice, dried meats and spicy pepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.5%

Other Reviews…
High quality shiraz from what I would guess to be some or all of the subregions of Great Southern. Great colour; it is a wine of purity and power, used oak rather than new for its maturation. It is bizarre that its price should be so low - this is an extraordinary bargain, even by the over-delivery standards West Cape Howe has set itself. Drink by 2034.
