2014 Sons of Eden Remus Shiraz

An Outstanding Eden Valley Shiraz that marries new world Barossa richness with an old world savouriness and complexity.

Sourced from 50 plus year old vines the wine was matured in French oak hogsheads, 45% new, for a period of 22 months. Outstanding colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark purple black hue. Exotic aromatics of liquorice and dark plum infused with subtle clove leap out of the glass overlaid by smoky cedar and dried meats followed by spicy pepper and dried herb end notes. Possessing magnificent concentration and richness along with a supple textural feel the palate also displays great finesse and class. Layer upon layer of dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruit soak the palate followed by spicy clove infusions, some smokiness, dried meats and pepper. The beautifully managed tannins have a satin like feel. Superb power and depth with an exceptionally long finish of spicy dark plums, liquorice, clove infusions, smoked dried meats and pepper.
