Tasting note: Bottler, Gregor Hannah describes notes of heather honey and nectarine in this Bourbon matured Blair Athol. It's a whisky that twists and changes - at moments, quite sweet on the nose suggesting boiled rock lollies, peppermint chocolate, then cream sponge cake plus a touch of apple strudel. Flavourwise, it's fairly pedestrian, but the lipsmacking delivery has a dazzling vibrancy rarely encountered. Nashi pear and spice feature, framed by bittersweet astringency. Orchard fruits and vanilla soothe a deceptively long finish. 57.6% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered. 165 bottles.
